The Staff-Parish Committee was recently informed by our preschool Director, that at the end of this school year she will step down from her position to pursue other goals.  Along with her, several others on the staff have also made the difficult decision to move on to other ventures, or to begin the joys of retirement.  As a result of this news, a special meeting of the Staff-Parish committee was called to discuss the future direction of the preschool.

After prayerful discussion and evaluation of the current situation, the Staff-Parish committee determined that there is inadequate time to place a certified Preschool Director and teaching staff before our state licensure renewal period expires in April.  In light of these strategic challenges, we must regretfully inform you that the Montverde United Methodist Preschool will not be open for classes for the 2008-2009 school year.  Families with students signed up for classes during the next school year will have all monies paid to date refunded (less any non-refundable amounts) no later than May 30, 2008.  Although our preschool cannot guarantee placement in any other programs in the area, the preschool staff has committed to assisting you in locating another program for your child.

The Staff-Parish Committee will appoint a special working group to further evaluate the possibility of reopening the preschool at a future date, but at this time no plans are in place to reopen the preschool at any specific time in the future.

We are grateful and appreciative of all the contributions our preschool staff has made over the past several years.  Their teaching, caring and nurturing of the children in a Christian-based environment will make a positive impact on the children and their families for years to come.  We wish them success in their future endeavors and pray that they continue influencing future generations in the same loving, Christian manner that they have demonstrated at Montverde United Methodist Preschool. 

We also want to express our appreciation to you, as the parents of our students, for the respect and trust you have placed in the quality program and staff of the preschool. Without you, our program would not have had the opportunity to flourish over the past 12 years.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
